We can pick you up in Santiago or Valparaiso—from pier or hotel. We travel through the picturesque Chilean countryside to the famous wine-producing valley of Casablanca.
A relative newcomer to winegrowing, the Casablanca Valley was first planted to vine in the mid-1980s. It quickly turned a page in Chile’s winemaking history and caught the world’s attention.
Casablanca is located 60 miles (100km) northwest of Santiago and only 20 miles (30km) from the Pacific Ocean at the furthest point. This means that Casablanca is strongly influenced by the cooling effects of the Humboldt Current, which flows up the west coast of Chile from the Antarctic.
No wonder there are a number of well known wineries in this valley: Veramonte, Viña Mar, and Loma Larga, as well as Casablanca, to name a few.
We will visit one or more of these wineries, as time permits, for a tour of their vineyards, grounds and winery, making sure to leave time for tasting some of these excellent Chilean wines. You may also visit their store and purchase some wine and wine accessories to take with you.
All too soon it is time to get you to your destination.
Note: It is essential that you wear layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion: windbreaker, sunglasses, hat, and sun protector.
